North Smithfield 2024 Tax Bill Notice

The 2024 North Smithfield tax bills have been mailed. If you have received your tax bill in an envelope with a return address to the Town of Smithfield (64 Farnum Pike, Smithfield, RI 02917), please note that this was an error made by the printing company. Both Towns are aware of the mistake.

Please be assured that your 2024 North Smithfield tax bill is correct, and you will still pay your taxes to the Town of North Smithfield. Your payments can be sent to the address located at the top of your bill. If using this address, you will need to submit payment with your quarterly stub.

Alternatively, you can mail the bills directly to Town Hall at:

Town of North Smithfield

83 Greene St

North Smithfield, RI  02896

For any questions regarding your bill, please contact the Assessor’s Office at 401-767-2200 x323 or the Tax Collector's Office at 401-767-2200 x511.

If paying taxes using on-line banking, please correct address to mail directly to 83 Greene St., North Smithfield, RI 02896

Only payments with a stub should be mailed to the Boston lockbox.

1st Quarter is due 8/15/24

Sewer bills were mailed out on 7/15/24

Real Estate and Tangible taxes have been mailed out

2024 tax rates

RE = $14.774

COMM = $20.432

TANG= $43.632

2024 Sewer Use and Assessment bills were mailed the week of July 15, 2024.

If you should have received a bill but did not,

please contact the Sewer department at 401-767-2200 x305.

The Sewer Use rate for July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025 is $689.93 per EDU,

which is significantly higher than sewer use rate increases from the past.

Several sewer pump stations are in various stages of disrepair.

Costly improvements need to be addressed as soon as possible.

Neglecting to do these repairs will lead to a system breakdown and

sewage backing up into users basements.

Thank you for your understanding.

The Sewer Department reports an increase in baby & cleaning wipes being flushed into the sewer system.

These wipes clog the sewer pipes and pumps.

Costly repairs increase the Sewer Use rate

Think before you flush!
