"DID YOU KNOW?"
==============================================
Over the past week or more , I learned that our tax department recently sent out 6,567 vehicle excise tax bills as we started the new year. If I had heard the number in the past, it never sunk in. It made me think further. Since those bills can be paid quarterly, it could mean we could receive over 25,000 payments. Any way you look at it, that is a substantial number of transactions that our tax collection staff manages each year.
That experience made me think that we should add a "Did you know?" bullet to this newsletter just to share knowledge of what it means to be the Town of North Smithfield. We will try to do that at least periodically. But it also made me think, "Why not ask if there are things people would like to know about North Smithfield". So today, as we put out our first "Did you know? "above, I am also asking every reader if there is something they would like to know. If so, please respond. We will do our best to seek the information and share it with the town.
