Senate Health and Human Services Committee
to meet Thursday
STATE HOUSE – The Senate Health and Human Services Committee is scheduled to meet virtually Thursday for hearings on several bills.
The committee is scheduled to meet Thursday, March 3, at 4 p.m. via WebEx.
Among the bills on the committee’s calendar are:
· 2022-S 2325 — Sponsored by Sen. Alana M. DiMario (D-Dist. 36, Narragansett, North Kingstown), this bill would create a state requirement that health insurance companies and Medicaid provide coverage for FDA-approved COVID-19 home testing kits.
· 2022-S 2202— This bill sponsored by Senate Majority Whip Maryellen Goodwin allows women who give birth while enrolled in Medicaid/RIte Care to remain covered by Medicaid for 12 continuous months after giving birth instead of the current 60 days postpartum coverage.
· 2202-S 2328 — Sponsored by Sen. Hanna M. Gallo (D-Dist. 27, Cranston, West Warwick), this bill would authorize licensed physical therapists to perform physical therapy services to student while in school without a prescription or referral, in accordance with the student’s IEP or IFSP.
