Kevin Hernandez (age 17)

On July 3, 2020, the Statewide Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Kevin Hernandez with two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, resulting in serious bodily injury; two counts of discharge of a firearm during a crime of violence; two counts of carrying a pistol without a license; one count of firing in a compact area; two counts of conspiracy to commit assault with a dangerous weapon; and three counts of conspiracy to carry a pistol without a license.

The alleged acts occurred in the city of Providence on diverse dates sometime between April 19, 2019 and June 17, 2019. The Rhode Island State Police conducted the investigation.

The Family Court waived jurisdiction over the defendant on February 4, 2020 and he is being tried as an adult.

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on July 17, 2020 in Providence County Superior Court.

On July 3, 2020, the Statewide Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Marklyn Brown with one count of murder, one count of discharge of a firearm resulting in death, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon with serious bodily injury, one count of discharge of a firearm resulting in injury, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, two counts of discharge of a firearm resulting in no injury, two counts of carrying a pistol without a license, two counts of possession of a stolen firearm, one count of possession of a stolen firearm while committing a crime of violence, one count of conspiracy to murder, one count of conspiracy to commit an assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of conspiracy to carry a pistol without a license, and one count of possession of a firearm after a conviction for a crime of violence.

The alleged acts occurred in the city of Providence sometime on September 29, 2019. The Providence Police Department conducted the investigation.

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on July 17, 2020 in Providence County Superior Court.

Johnny Veng (age 30)
