Message from Town Administrator
Gary Ezovski
Thank you to all as we continue to operate with our buildings closed to the public with all striving to honor the social distancing rules as we stay determined to deliver the essential services that our residents and businesses need. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we all struggle along.
As to the town-wide condition, last week I closed with a note of hope that we would avoid another doubling of the positive case count over the next week. Unfortunately, as most perhaps already know, we were not successful in that goal. As of the time I typed this note, the information I had indicates our positive case count had risen to 26 with seven of the fourteen increase since last week at St Antoine.
The message from those numbers should remind us all that this isn’t over yet. We need continuing vigilance in our efforts to comply with meticulous hygiene, compliance with social distancing, wearing cloth face coverings, adhering to visitation rules at any senior care facility, staying home and being considerate of others when we are out getting food or other important supplies.

Given the mandated closings and other restrictions that the coronavirus is causing, it is recognized that it may be a challenge for some North Smithfield taxpayers to make payment for fourth quarter property and auto excise taxes that are due on April 15, 2020.
Such being the case, and with the enactment of the Executive Order dated April 16, 2020, please be advised that the deadline for payment of the fourth quarter property and auto excise taxes, previously due on April 15, 2020 for the 2019 North Smithfield tax bill, will now be due on May 15, 2020.
