Don't Be Too Busy To Care for the Environment During the Holidays

 
 

GIVE A GIFT TO OUR ENVIRONMENT THIS SEASON -- Do your part.

 

Are you really too busy to care for our environment during the holidays?

 

It is really easy to make a few small simple changes that will leave a BIG impact in helping our environment.

 

How cool would it be if everyone really gave this a try. We would see such success not just here in Rhode Island, but for our world's health.

 

While you might think a few extra items in the trash are no big deal -- trash amounts add up fast and is filling our only one state landfill at an alarming rate. At RI's current disposal amounts - it is estimated the landfill will reach capacity in 2040.

 

If every RI household (data states = 371,000 households in 2020) could cut just 1 pound of trash each week during the season, that would save almost 2 MILLION pounds of trash from being landfilled in this short time.

 

We can do this Rhode Island. Please take the time and recycle or divert waste during the holidays. And then even better, continue these new habits all year long.

The easiest way to recycle at your holiday gatherings, is to just put your recycle bin right next to your trash can.

 

This way your guests can do the sorting as they dispose waste. No one likes to pick through the cans after everything is mixed in, so give your family & guests the option to sort correctly right from the start.
