What’s on tap for August

 

Serving up Culture. This newsletter we share six international festivals to experience food and fun. Also there is still plenty of good weather days left for al fresco dining. We share ten restaurants, one in each community to try. The fun continues with more food & drink events and summer concerts to end out the season..
 

This month the Blackstone Valley, RI serves up culture with four festivals that will take you through Europe to savor authentic food, drink and entertainment.

 

The 96th Annual Grecian Festival in Pawtucket Aug 18 - 20, 2023
 

 

·     August 11 - 12 Our neighbors in Central Falls, The Madeira club is hosting their annual feast, Festa da Nossa Senhora do Monte, featuring authentic Portuguese food and live entertainment.

·     August 12 & 13 St. Basil the Great Summer Festival - Taste the flavors of middle eastern cuisine including chicken taouk, falafel and hummus while enjoying Middle Eastern music.

·     August 18 - 20 Continue from the Middle East to the Mediterranean at the 96th Annual Assumption Grecian Festival in Pawtucket. Experience Authentic Greek specialties including Pastitsio, Moussaka, Spanakopita, and Baklava along with lively dancing and cooking demonstrations.
 

 

 

·     August 26th there are two festivals to check out in Woonsocket for Polish and Romanian Specialties. First is the St. Stanislaus Kotska annual Polish Festival where you can try some traditional Golombki and Pierogi. Then continue on to St. John the Baptist Romanian Orthodox Church Food Festival for special desserts place an advance order for Sarmale, Mititei and Cozonac!
