Woonsocket Mayor Beauchamp Announces City Will Seek to Appoint Marcum, LLP As New Independent Auditor

WOONSOCKET, R.I.: Mayor Christopher Beauchamp announced the city's intention to seek City Council approval to appoint Marcum, LLP as its new independent auditor. Marcum, LLP is a nationally recognized firm with a local office in Providence. The firm has submitted to the city an engagement letter to conduct the audit for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023. Pending City Council approval, the audit work will commence the week of June 24th.
Mayor Beauchamp commended Marcum and audit partner James Wilkinson for their prompt responsiveness and scheduling flexibility. He stated, "We're eager to work with Jim Wilkinson's team at Marcum to expedite the audit completion and the issuance of our fiscal year 2023 financial statements." Beauchamp added, "With our finance team now in place, the city is committed to providing the auditors with all necessary trial balances and schedules on time and dedicated to offering full support to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process."
