Rubbish and Recycling Holiday Pickup Schedule

 

On Thursday November 22nd in observance of Thanksgiving Day, the Woonsocket Material Recycle Facility located at 943 River Street will be closed.

 

The Recycle Facility will be open on Friday November 23th from 7am to 3:15pm and Saturday November 24th from 8am to 11:45pm

 

Woonsocket residents are reminded that curbside pick-up for trash, recycling and yard waste for Thursday and Friday will be delayed by one day.

The Coast Guard officer accused of plotting a massive domestic terror attack will stay in jail for at least two weeks while federal prosecutors build their case. The government will use the time to find evidence showing Christopher Hasson's intent to harm prominent Democrats and journalists. Hasson was arrested last week.        President Trump is going after Empire actor Jussie Smollett [[ SMUH- let ]]. Trump tweeted yesterday that Smollett had insulted tens of millions of people with "racist and dangerous comments." Chicago Police say Smollett lied about being attacked by two white men in masks, wearing pro-Trump hats, hurling racist and homophobic slurs.        A federal judge is imposing a full gag order on longtime Trump ally Roger Stone. Judge Amy Berman Jackson told Stone yesterday not to make any public comments, including social media posts, about his case or Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Stone apologized to the judge for posting an Instagram picture of her with an image of crosshairs above her head. Stone is charged with witness tampering, obstruction of justice, and making false statements to Congress.        The CEO of the Time's Up movement is resigning after sexual assault allegations were made against her son. CEO Lisa Borders announced earlier this week that she would be resigning from the organization Time's Up was formed last year to fight sexual assault and harassment in the workplace.        The state of New Jersey is celebrating native son Anthony Bourdain. The New Jersey Assembly approved the Anthony Bourdain Food Trail in the celebrity chef's honor. Bourdain committed suicide last year.       A valuable and illegal donation to a children's charity in Missouri is going up in smoke. Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks said in its recent newsletter that last year, someone donated a brick of marijuana that Springfield Police said had a street value of three-thousand-dollars.
