On August 27, 2021, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Arthur Godette with one count of first-degree robbery, two counts of conspiracy, one count of kidnapping, one count of second-degree carjacking, and one count of assault with a dangerous weapon.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the city of Providence sometime on March 12, 2021. The Providence Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on September 15, 2021, in Providence County Superior Court.

On August 27, 2021, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Kevin Mendes with one count of domestic assault with a dangerous weapon with intent to murder, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon with intent to murder, and one count of domestic assault with a dangerous weapon resulting in serious bodily injury.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the town of Warren sometime on May 24, 2021. The Warren Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on September 15, 2021, in Providence County Superior Court.

On August 27, 2021, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Jorge Lopez with one count of first-degree child molestation.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the city of East Providence sometime between September 14, 2020, and April 8, 2021. The East Providence Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on September 15, 2021, in Providence County Superior Court.

The CDC is releasing several studies dealing with mask-wearing in schools. Data shows that schools enforcing mask wearing helps curb the spread of coronavirus. One of the studies found 113 of the 191 COVID outbreaks between mid-July through August were in schools not enforcing mask mandates.       The development of an Instagram for kids is paused for now. The Wall Street Journal got a hold of some research that found six-percent of American teens blamed their suicidal thoughts on Instagram.       The Biden administration is moving to preserve DACA [[ DOCK-uh ]] after a federal court ruling in Texas. DACA protects Dreamers, those who were brought into the U.S. illegally as children. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas [[ my-OAR-kuss ]] says they'll create a new federal rule aimed at preserving the policy.       The family of Gabby Petito is getting support from folks across the U.S. There were long lines at the funeral home in Holbrook on New York's Long Island yesterday after Gabby's parents invited the public to attend the service for their daughter. She was found dead in Wyoming after her fiance returned from a cross-country road trip without her.       The DEA is warning about an alarming increase in the number of counterfeit pills laced with deadly fentanyl. DEA Administrator Anne Milgram says the fake pills are usually marketed as prescription drugs. However, they instead contain the synthetic opioid, often in lethal doses.       A "Dancing With the Stars" pro is being forced off the dance floor. Cheryl Burke announced in an Instagram video she has tested positive for COVID in a breakthrough case since she's been vaccinated. That means she'll have to spend ten days quarantining at home.
