The man charged with killing four University of Idaho students in November 2022 is accepting a plea deal that will drop the death penalty. Multiple sources are reporting Bryan Kohberger accepted a plea deal that took the death penalty off the table in exchange for him pleading guilty to committing the four murders and serving life. Kohberger will be sentenced to four consecutive life sentences and waives all right to appeal.        A number of amendments to President Trump's "big, beautiful bill" are being voted on by the Senate. The process is known as a "vote-a-rama" on Capitol Hill. It's not clear how long the voting marathon will take or whether Republicans have enough votes to pass the huge tax and spending package. Republicans have a self imposed deadline of July 4th.        The suspect in the murders of two Idaho firefighters by a man who started a fire as an ambush -- at one time wanted to be a firefighter. The Kootenai [[ koot-ten-nay ]] County Sheriff's Office says Wess Roley appeared to be living out of his car. Officers found a shotgun near Roley's body and they're searching for other possible weapons.        Kilmar Abrego Garcia will remain in jail after he expressed concerns over the Trump administration saying he would be deported to a third country once released. A Tennessee federal judge issued the ruling Monday. In a filing from his lawyers on Friday, Abrego Garcia's team said "we cannot put any faith in any representation made on the this issue by" the Justice Department.        The jury in the Sean "Diddy" Combs sex crimes trial in New York City is being dismissed for the day. The adjournment comes after the first day of deliberations. Combs faces charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution.        The new Brad Pitt movie raced its way to the top of the weekend box office with the racing thriller "F1" pulling in just under 56-million dollars. The live-action remake of "How to Train Your Dragon" held steady at second place. That was followed by the latest Pixar movie "Elio" and the horror sequel "M3GAN [[ Megan ]] 2.0" which got off to a rough start, coming in fourth place in its debut weekend.
