A federal judge may step in and force the federal government to fund a food assistance program while the government remains shut. A Massachusetts judge heard a lawsuit Thursday brought by 25 Democratic-led states who want the Trump Administration to partially fund the SNAP program used by 42-million low-income Americans. It's set to expire on Saturday unless the government re-opens. A ruling is expected later today.        President Trump is calling on Republicans to eliminate the Senate filibuster that's allowing the government shutdown to continue. The filibuster rule requires at least 60 senators to vote in favor of a bill for it to pass, allowing for a minority vote to block the bill. On Thursday, Trump returned from his trip to Asia and posted on social media that now is the time for Republicans to "play their Trump Card" and to use what he called "the Nuclear Option - get rid of the filibuster and get rid of it now."        Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem is turning down a request by the Illinois governor to suspend immigration enforcement activities in the Chicago area until after Halloween. Governor JB Pritzker cited children's safety in his request. In rejecting the governor's request, Noem said she won't put a pause on any work federal agents will do to keep communities safe.        At least 15 people are injured after a flight from Mexico to New Jersey experienced a drop in altitude over Florida. The Federal Aviation Administration says the JetBlue flight from Cancun to Newark had to make an emergency landing in Tampa Thursday afternoon after 15 to 20 people were injured by the flight disruption. The injured were taken to a hospital in Florida for non-life-threatening injuries.        Arrests are being made in connection to the fatal overdose of actor Robert De Niro's grandson. Five people are reportedly facing drug charges over the July 2023 death of 19-year-old Leandro Anthony De Niro-Rodriguez in Manhattan. The New York City Medical Examiner's office said several drugs were found in De Niro-Rodriguez's system including fentanyl, cocaine and ketamine.        The Fall Classic has entered the win or go home phase. If the Los Angeles Dodgers do not win tonight in Toronto, the Blue Jays will capture the World Series.
