The NBA is being swept up in an FBI gambling probe. FBI Director Kash Patel says investigators uncovered a illegal gambling operation as well as a sports betting rigging scheme. Miami Heat player Terry Rozier and former coach and player Damon Jones are accused of using inside information to make wagers on games, while Portland Trailblazers coach Chauncey Billups was arrested in connection with a poker scheme involving New York mafia families. Dozens of other people were arrested in today's operation. Billups is set to appear in court later today.        Israel could lose U.S. support if it moves to annex territory in the West Bank. President Trump told Time Magazine that "it won't happen" but asserted Israel would lose support from its American ally if the Israeli government does proceed with annexation efforts. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has also doubled down on rejecting plans for annexation as he noted before traveling to Israel that it would threaten the U.S.-mediated ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.        The Senate voted down a GOP-bill that would pay some federal workers deemed essential during the government shutdown. The bill that would pay air traffic controllers, military members, border patrol agents and others failed by a vote of 54 to 45 along party lines. The shutdown is now in it's 23rd day.        President Trump says he's keeping up the pressure on Russia to end the fighting in Ukraine. This after the Trump administration imposed sanctions on two of Russia's largest oil companies in move to get the nation to agree to an immediate ceasefire. Trump recently canceled a proposed 2nd summit with Vladamir Putin, saying the Russian leader says the right things, but then bombs more civilian targets.        It's not your imagination if you think you're spending more time being stuck in traffic. According to the 2025 Urban Mobility Report from the Texas A&M Transportation Institute, traffic congestion now exceeds pre-pandemic levels. It also showed heavy traffic hours spreading into the mid-day, midweek and weekend travel periods        NFL season kicks off Week 8 later with Thursday Night Football. The Los Angeles Chargers will host the Minnesota Vikings at SoFi Stadium. The Chargers are four-and-three on the season, while the Vikings are three-and-three. The game kicks off at 8:15 p.m. eastern.
