Today marks three years since Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The nation has been heavily dependent on U.S. military aid in resisting Moscow, but that aid may be gone under the Trump administration and its soldiers face exhaustion. Russia controls about 20-percent of Ukraine's territory at the cost of hundreds of thousands killed and wounded.        The Trump administration is set to put all civil servants employed by the U.S. Agency for International Development on administrative today, as well as cut two-thousand employees from the agency. A notice reviewed by The Hill shows the maneuver is being called a "reduction-in-force" and was delivered from the office of the administrator.        California Govenor Gavin Newsom is asking Congress to approve an additional almost 40-billion dollars in aid to help Los Angeles recover from January's devastating wildfires. In a letter asking for support from lawmakers, Newsom outlines how the requested funding would be used to rebuild homes, infrastructure, business, schools, churches and healthcare facilities. Estimates of the total economic loss from the firestorm have risen to more than 250-billion.        Israel is sending tanks into the occupied West Bank for the first time in 20 years. The move comes after bombs exploded on three buses last week outside Tel Aviv. The country's defense minister says thousands of Palestinians displaced in areas targeted by the military will not be allowed to return to their homes.        Pope Francis remains in critical condition with blood tests showing mild signs of kidney failure. In a Sunday update, the Vatican noted the Pope had a mild renal insufficiency "which is under control." The 88-year-old pontiff is being treated for double pneumonia and is receiving oxygen therapy.        Tesla is recalling more than 375-thousand vehicles in the U.S. to fix a power steering issue. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the recall involves Model 3 and Model Y vehicles with operating software prior to 2023.
