Final Report of the Providence County Grand Jury

Olivio Leverone (age 33)

Central Falls, RI

On February 19, 2021, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Olivio Leverone with one count of murder, one count of conspiracy to commit assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of discharge of a firearm during a crime of violence, one count of conspiracy to carry a pistol without a license, one count of carrying a pistol without a license, one count of possession of a firearm after a conviction for a crime of violence, one count of delivering a controlled substance (marijuana), one count of possession of one to five kilograms of marijuana, and one count of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the State of Rhode Island on various dates between October 25. 2020 and November 2, 2020. Both the Pawtucket and Central Falls Police Departments coordinated efforts into the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on February 24, 2021 in Providence County Superior Court. 

 

 

Julio Debarros (age 36)

On February 19, 2021, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Julio Debarros with one count of murder, one count of conspiracy to commit assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of discharge of a firearm during a crime of violence, one count of conspiracy to carry a pistol without a license, one count of carrying a pistol without a license, one count of possession of a firearm after a conviction for a crime of violence and one count of soliciting another person to deliver marijuana. 

 

The alleged acts occurred in the city of Pawtucket sometime on October 25, 2020. The Pawtucket Police Department led the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on February 24, 2021 in Providence County Superior Court.

 

President Trump says Jimmy Kimmel was taken off the air because of bad ratings. ABC suspended the late night talk show host indefinitely after he made a comment about the accused killer of Charlie Kirk. The announcement came after Nexstar Media Group, a major operator of ABC-affiliated stations, said in a statement that it "strongly objects" to the comment, and will replace the show with other programming in its ABC-affiliated markets.        President Trump is flying back to the U.S. after concluding his second state visit to the U.K. He spent yesterday and today meeting with King Charles and Prime Minister Keir Starmer. First Lady Melania Trump accompanied him on the trip.        Arguments on whether or not President Trump's tariff plan is legal will be heard by the Supreme Court in November. The focus will be on Trump using a law meant for times of emergency to impose the duties without the help of Congress. The high court scheduled oral arguments for November 5th after it agreed to fast track the case.        Three officers killed in Pennsylvania yesterday are being honored with flags flown at half-staff. York County authorities said the officers were reportedly trying to serve a warrant when someone opened fire. While early reports indicated the gunman was killed by a self-inflicted gunshot wound, officials say he was actually killed by police.        The Supreme Court is being asked by the Trump administration to lift rulings made by lower courts that block the firing of Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook. It comes a day after Cook was a participant in the Federal Open Market Committee, which cut interest rates by a quarter percentage point. In the Justice Department's filing, Solicitor General D. John Sauer said this involves yet another case of improper judicial interference with the President's removal authority.        The Jordan Peele produced sports thriller "Him" is aiming for a good start at the box office this weekend. The film starring Marlon Wayans is projected to make 15 to 18-million in its debut weekend. Meanwhile, the drama "A Big Bold Beautiful Journey" starring Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell is eyeing an eight to ten-million-dollar start.
