It's day 31 of the federal government shutdown. The Senate adjourned on Thursday and won't meet again until after the weekend. There continues to be no clear end in sight as millions of low-income Americans will soon feel the pain of the ongoing shutdown. The food stamps benefit known as SNAP is set to expire on Saturday for roughly 42-million people.        The death toll from Hurricane Melissa is climbing to at least 50 across the Caribbean. The majority of the deaths coming from floods in Haiti. Death tolls are expected to rise as search and rescue efforts continue in places like Jamaica and Cuba.        After President Trump announced this week that the U.S. would resume testing nuclear weapons because other countries are doing it, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitri Peskov says Moscow is ready to follow suit. He insisted recent tests of nuclear-powered drones and nuclear-capable missiles didn't involve any detonations and couldn't be viewed as nuclear testing. He added that if another country did resume nuclear testing, Russia would likely do the same.        Sean "Diddy" Combs has is now in federal prison to begin his sentence for prostitution-related charges. On Thursday, Combs checked into Fort Dix, a low-security prison in New Jersey. Combs will serve roughly two and a-half years at Fort Dix after being convicted of transportation to engage in prostitution.        Prince Andrew is now just Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. Buckingham Palace made the announcement Thursday stripping him of his titles. The palace also said that a formal notice had been served for Andrew to leave his home at the Royal Lodge, close to Windsor Castle. The changes come as the royal faces growing pressure over his ties to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.        YouTube TV has stopped airing ABC and ESPN after the streamer failed to reach a deal with Disney. The two networks and other Disney programming were pulled from YouTube late Thursday, just before the current deal expired at midnight. "Variety" says the two sides remain far apart on a deal to keep Disney shows on the internet TV service.
