Anthony Oliveira (age 34)

Pawtucket, RI

On April 12, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Anthony Oliveira with one count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, resulting in serious bodily injury, one count of discharging a firearm while committing a crime of violence resulting in permanent incapacity, one count of possession of a large capacity feeding device, and one count of discharging a firearm within the compact part of the City of Pawtucket. 

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Pawtucket on or about February 1, 2023. The Pawtucket Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on April 18, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

Gino Rossi (age 28)

Woonsocket, RI

On April 12, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Gino Rossi with one count of first-degree domestic robbery, three counts of domestic assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of domestic strangulation, one count of simple domestic assault, one and one count of domestic kidnapping.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Woonsocket on or about September 23, 2023. The Woonsocket Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on May 1, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

 

Jesus Martinez (age 22)

On April 12, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Jesus Martinez with one count of first-degree robbery and one count of conspiracy.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Providence on or about October 25, 2023. The Providence Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on May 1, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

Eduardo Mercado (age 25)

On April 12, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Eduardo Mercado with one count of first-degree robbery, one count of conspiracy, and one count of possession of brass knuckles.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Providence on or about October 25, 2023. The Providence Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on May 1, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

 

Steven Duarte (age 36)

On April 12, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Steven Duarte with two counts of first-degree robbery, seven counts of conspiracy, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of kidnapping, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon resulting in serious bodily injury, and one count of assault of a person over 60 years of age.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Pawtucket on or about January 14, 2024. The Pawtucket Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on May 1, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

Adam Dufault (age 35)

On April 12, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Steven Duarte with two counts of first-degree robbery, seven counts of conspiracy, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of kidnapping, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon resulting in serious bodily injury, and one count of assault of a person over 60 years of age.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Pawtucket on or about January 14, 2024. The Pawtucket Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on May 1, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

This after a judge ruled the Fulton County DA could remain on the case if her ex-boyfriend was removed as the special prosecutor.        A majority of college students say they oppose the tactics used by some pro-Palestinian campus protesters. The Generation Lab survey reported by Axios found that only a small number of students have actually participated in the protests. More than eight-in-ten say that protesters that vandalize property or illegally occupy campus buildings should be held responsible by their schools.        President Biden is campaigning in the critical battleground state of Wisconsin. The president highlighted his role in jump-starting a three-point-three billion dollar investment by Microsoft to build a new artificial intelligence data center in Racine. The project is expected to create more than four-thousand jobs.        The man suspected in the killing of a Georgia nursing student has been indicted. Jose Antonio Ibarra faces ten charges in connection to Laken Riley's death. He entered the U.S. illegally two years ago from Venezuela.        Nuggets' superstar Nikola Jokic [[ ni-KOLA yo-kitch ]] is taking home his third-career NBA Most Valuable Player award. The league announced on Wednesday that Jokic beat out Mavericks' star Luka Doncic [[ DON-chitch ]] and dynamic Thunder guard Shai [[ shay ]] Gilgeous-Alexander for the award. Jokic won back-to-back MVPs in 2021 and '22.       New research shows the smell of food cooking is a sign of air pollution. A new study from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration measured what they called "underappreciated sources" of urban air pollution. Researchers wrote that if you can smell the food, "there's a good chance it's impacting air quality."
