Amazon HQ2 Proposal

 

 

Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt has confirmed that Woonsocket has submitted a proposal to Amazon for the siting of their second headquarters, Amazon HQ2, within the City.

 

“The Administration has put together a combined municipal/private-sector proposal which we believe is transformative, imaginative, creative, exciting and workable,” said the Mayor.  The idea proposes an array of site choices that will make up the campus Amazon is looking for, which can be acquired and cleared for new construction as well as utilizing existing historic and architecturally significant buildings along the majestic Blackstone River.  This provides abundant green spaces, water features and a planned bike-path to service a large professional workforce, as well as develop ‘net zero’ technology and state-of-the-art energy-efficiency and solar technology with a new and fresh urban design and architectural approach to economic development.

 

Mayor Baldelli-Hunt is planning a public presentation in the near future.
