On September 1, 2023, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Christopher Pagan with one count of first-degree robbery and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery.

The alleged acts occurred in the town of North Smithfield on or about February 14, 2023. The North Smithfield Police Department conducted the investigation.

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on September 20, 2023 in Providence County Superior Court.

 

Johnny Crespo (age 21)
Woonsocket, RI

On September 1, 2023, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Johnny Crespo with one count of first-degree robbery and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery.

The alleged acts occurred in the town of North Smithfield on or about February 14, 2023. The North Smithfield Police Department conducted the investigation.

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on September 20, 2023 in Providence County Superior Court.

On September 1, 2023, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Jyesenia Ohagan with one count of first-degree robbery and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery.

The alleged acts occurred in the town of North Smithfield on or about February 14, 2023. The North Smithfield Police Department conducted the investigation.

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on September 20, 2023 in Providence County Superior Court.

 

 

Kevin McCarthy says he will not run again for Speaker of the House. McCarthy spoke Tuesday evening following the chamber's decision to vote him out of his position in a historic vote forced by Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz.        The Biden administration is forgiving another nine-billion dollars in student loan debts. The forgiveness announced Wednesday applies to 125-thousand borrowers who have been on income-driven repayment and Public Service Loan Forgiveness programs.        Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer will lead a bipartisan group of senators to China next week. Traveling with the New York Democrat will be Republican Senators Michael Crapo of Idaho and Bill Cassidy and John Kennedy of Louisiana, and Democratic Senators Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire and Jon Ossoff of Georgia.        Cellphones across the country will be getting an emergency alert today. The jolting sound should start hitting phones at around 2:20 p.m. Eastern Time. During the alert, a message on your phone will say, "this is a test of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System, no action is needed."        The man accused of murdering rapper Tupac Shakur is expected to be arraigned today in Las Vegas. That's when a trial date might be set for Duane "Keefe D" Davis. Authorities say Shakur was involved in a fight with Davis outside a Mike Tyson fight in 1996, which allegedly led Davis to get the gun that was used to kill Shakur at a Las Vegas intersection.        This year's Nobel Prize in chemistry is going to a trio of scientists who worked to discover and develop quantum dots. They're used in LED lights and TV screens, and by surgeons when removing cancer tissue. The Nobel committee announced today that American chemists Moungi Bawandi of MIT and Louis Brus of Columbia will share the prize with Russian chemist Alexei Ekimov.
