"The ride was loads of fun, with Captain Good getting us started by cracking great jokes and launching the narrative for the trip. Far more rollicking fun than spooky, it was great for all ages."

The House is set to vote for a new Speaker one week from today. Members leaving the House Republican conference meeting said a candidate forum for speaker will be held next Tuesday, with the election the following day. Kevin McCarthy says he won't run again following the House vote to remove him as speaker Tuesday.        Another day of testimony is scheduled today in the civil fraud trial of former President Donald Trump. Trump is accused by New York Attorney General Letitia James of inflating his net worth in order to get more favorable loans from banks.        Western militaries are running out of ammunition to give to Ukraine as its war against Russian forces drags on. NATO and British officials shared that warning Tuesday as they urged western nations to ramp up production in order to, as they put it, "keep Ukraine in the fight against Russian invaders."        Major League Baseball's Wild Card round is underway. The Texas Rangers began Tuesday's action with a 4-0 shutout win over the Tampa Bay Rays. The Twins took down the Blue Jays, 3-1. In the National League, the Arizona Diamondbacks downed the Brewers 6-3 and the Phillies put away the Marlins, 4-1.        Pope Francis says fossil fuel companies are not doing enough to fight climate change. The pope released a new document today calling for greater efforts to attack the climate crisis. Francis also criticizes Western nations, and calls for "a broad change" in their "irresponsible lifestyle."       C-3PO's head will be up for auction next month. That's just one of the props from iconic movies in the annual Propstore livestream auction November 9th through 12th. The light-up droid head from "Star Wars" is the headline item and is expected to bring more than a million dollars.
