A federal judge in Maryland is ordering thousands of fired government employees be reinstated. Thursday evening, the judge issued a temporary restraining order against a dozen agencies that had fired their probationary employees. The ruling said the government gave no advance notice to the workers and fired them illegally without cause. This comes the same day that a different judge in California also ruled some of the mass layoffs were unlawful.        Russian President Vladimir Putin has a number of conditions before he'll agree to a ceasefire with Ukraine. A U.S.-negotiated 30-day cessation of hostilities is on the table more than three years since Russia launched a full scale invasion of its neighbor. Speaking at a news conference Thursday, Putin said Russia supports the idea of a ceasefire but he wants Ukrainian troops in the Russian territory of Kursk to surrender.        A tough crowd for JD Vance at the Kennedy Center. The Vice President appeared at the performing arts center in Washington, DC Thursday night for a performance of Stravinsky by the National Symphony Orchestra, and was loudly booed by audience members as he took his seat.        Clean-up will continue today after a tornado touched down near Los Angeles during stormy weather on Thursday. The twister that hit Pico Rivera packed a wind-speed punch of 85-miles-per-hour and lasted about two minutes, dropping trees, damaging water lines and roofs and causing other damage across a four-block area of the neighborhood. There were no reports of injuries.        The Food and Drug Administration is issuing its recommendations for which flu shots to use this year. Thursday's decision came without input from a panel of independent vaccine advisers after a February meeting was cancelled without explanation. The FDA did however use its own experts working with the Centers for Disease Control and the Department of Defense to review data from around the world about the type of flu viruses currently circulating.        It's Pi Day today. Pi Day honors the mathematical ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter. Pi technically extends infinitely, but it's frequently rounded to three-point-one-four, which is why it's celebrated on March 14th each year. You can celebrate Pi Day even if you're not a math whiz. Plenty pf businesses are taking advantage of Pi Day to offer discounts.
