PARKING BAN

WOONSOCKET, RI: The City of Woonsocket has announced a city-wide parking ban in effect from 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2023, until 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 15, 2023. On-street parking is prohibited during this time to allow crews to effectively and safely clear all roads. At least nine people have been killed after a UPS jet crashed at Louisville Muhammad Ali Airport. The crash on Tuesday sent a massive fireball into the air and eleven people to the hospital. Mayor Craig Greenberg confirmed the nine deaths and added he expects the number to rise.        Democrats are celebrating big wins in yesterday's key elections. Voters have elected Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani as the next mayor of New York City. Elsewhere, Democrat Abigail Spanberger won the Virginia governor's race, Democrat Mikie [[ MY-key ]] Sherrill won the governor's race in New Jersey and California voters passed Proposition 50 which called for the redrawing of congressional maps to favor Democrats.        President Trump says it's time for Republicans to make matters into their own hands and terminate the filibuster. The president made the comments while hosting Republican senators for breakfast at the White House. Trump warned that no legislation will be passed for over three years if lawmakers don't end the filibuster. It comes as the shutdown is now the longest in U.S. history.        The Supreme Court is listening to arguments on the legality of President Trump's tariffs. It comes after the high court agreed to fast track the case. The tariffs will stay in place until the court makes a decision. Protestors are outside the Supreme Court with some dressed in outfits related to the TV series "The Handmaid's Tale."        A new ADP report is providing some hope that the labor market isn't in danger of sinking. The report found that private companies added 42-thousand jobs in October, following a decline of 29-thousand in September and topping the Dow Jones consensus estimate for a gain of 22-thousand. According to the report, all of the job creation came from companies employing at least 250 workers, with that category adding 76-thousand jobs.        The Mid American Conference will take the spotlight in the college football world tonight. Ball State will host Kent State at 7 p.m. eastern. Also at 7 p.m., Toledo will welcome in Northern Illinois.
