WOONSOCKET, RI: The City of Woonsocket has announced a city-wide parking ban in effect from 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2023, until 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 15, 2023. On-street parking is prohibited during this time to allow crews to effectively and safely clear all roads. Travelers are heading to their destinations for Thanksgiving tomorrow. The TSA expects to screen over 18-million flyers before the end of next Tuesday, and yesterday was likely the busiest with 52-thousand flights scheduled nationwide. Officials say air traffic control staffing is back up to pre-government shutdown levels, and flights are largely on-schedule with over 50-thousand flights set for today across the country.        Russia says a peace deal with Ukraine was meant to be disrupted by a leaked phone call between special envoy Steve Witkoff and his Russian counterpart. The Kremlin also said it was too early to say a deal to end the war between the two countries was close. In the call, Witkoff reportedly gave advice to a Russian official on how to appeal to President Trump.        Thirteen people have been killed after a fire spread to a number of high-rise apartment buildings in Hong Kong. Video shows multiple buildings on fire, with flames coming out of windows and smoke rising from the buildings. Local authorities also say over a dozen people are injured as well.        A woman with family ties to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has been detained by ICE. According to multiple reports Bruna Caroline Ferreira, the mother of Leavitt's nephew and a Brazil native, was taken into custody near Boston earlier this month. The Department of Homeland Security said Ferreira overstayed a tourist visa that expired in 1999. Leavitt has reportedly not been in contact for many years with Ferreira, who was previously engaged with her brother.        Six in ten full-time employees say they plan to look for Cyber Monday deals while at work this year. Most of them say they don't feel guilty about it because everyone does it. That's according to a survey by CouponFollow.        The latest College Football Playoff rankings were released on Tuesday. The only change in the top 11 spots in the rankings are Oregon and Ole Miss swapping spots at sixth and seventh. Miami and Utah did the same further down, flipping between 12th and 13th. There will be one more rankings release ahead of selection Sunday on December 7th, on which the 12-team field will be set.
