Flash flooding on the East Coast has taken the lives of two people. The two were killed in New Jersey after their car was swept away by high waters. The storm system yesterday sent floodwaters rushing through New York subway stations, causing mass transit nightmares.        President Trump says he's "not done" with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The president told the BBC he's "disappointed" but left the door open for talks after he threatened Moscow with sanctions over its war with Ukraine. Trump's remarks also follow his announcement of a deal with NATO to send more weapons, including Patriot missile systems, to Ukraine.        The Senate is getting closer to voting on a measure to eliminate about nine-point-four-billion-dollars in congressionally approved spending. Senate Majority Leader John Thune made the announcement shortly after securing a key vote from Senator Mike Rounds. According to Thune, the vote is on track for today to discharge the rescissions package out of the Appropriations Committee and then proceed to the floor.        Speaker Mike Johnson says Attorney General Pam Bondi needs to explain her statements regarding Jeffrey Epstein. His comment comes in response to the Justice Department announcing it would not make any more disclosures in the case. Johnson's remarks express a difference in rhetoric that breaks away from President Trump, who has defended Bondi.        Kilmar Abrego Garcia is due to appear in a Nashville courtroom tomorrow. Abrego Garcia was deported to El Salvador earlier this year before being returned to Tennessee where he's facing human trafficking charges. A federal judge in Maryland, where the man's family lives, is concerned he'll be immediately deported once he's released on bond.        The 2025 MLB All-Star Game is set to be played in Atlanta on Tuesday. The American League is aiming to notch its second straight victory and win its 11th of the last 12 All-Star contests when they take on the National League at Truist Park. Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes is slated to start on the mound for the NL opposite the AL's Tarik Skubal of the Detroit Tigers.
