Last Call for Artist Applications 

 

LAST CALL FOR ARTISTS AND CRAFTERS!

 

Attention crafters, artisans, and creators of original handmade items, the 2022 Pawtucket Arts Festival is accepting final vendor applications for space in the arts marketplace at the Slater Park Fall Festival.

 

The festival features a curated, open-air market from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm on Saturday, September 17th - Sunday, September 18th that attracts over 10,000 attendees and features a live performance of the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra. All applications will be reviewed by the Pawtucket Arts Festival Arts Vendor Selection Committee to ensure that all art vendor's work is a unique, one-of-a-kind, handmade art object and that a balance of many art forms are represented throughout the marketplace.

President Trump says he doesn't get why his supporters are so interested in the case of disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. Trump told reporters as he left an event in Pennsylvania that Epstein was "never a big factor in terms of life," adding that the "credible information has been given." The Justice Department and FBI issued a joint memo last week that stated Epstein did not have a client list and confirmed he died by suicide in his New York City jail cell in 2019.        DOGE-related spending cuts are moving forward in the Senate. Vice President Vance on Tuesday night broke a tie to allow the Senate to begin debate on the bill, which is attempting to take back spending that has already been approved. The House approved the billions of dollars in cuts by a narrow vote in June. The over nine-billion-dollars in reductions targets mostly foreign aid, but also funding for public broadcasting.        The U.S. has made a trade deal with Indonesia. President Trump said the deal will give the U.S. "full access to Indonesia." He said the U.S. will pay zero tariffs, while Indonesia will pay 19-percent.        Medical debt will stay on credit reports after a federal judge overturned a Biden-era rule. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau rule would have removed the debt, however, the judge found that the rule exceeded the bureau's authority under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.        Sharks might be hanging around the East Coast more frequently because the water is getting warmer. Researchers at New York's Stony Brook University have been following the movements of 155 sharks they've tagged over the past five years and say rising sea temperatures are causing some species to linger on the East Coast a month longer than usual.        A paranormal investigator is dead while touring with the Annabelle doll from "The Conjuring." The New England Society for Psychic Research says Dan Rivera died suddenly over the weekend in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.It's not clear how the 54-year-old died.
