Summerfest Returns This Summer

 

Woonsocket – Summerfest is back in 2022!  Autumnfest is proud to announce that after 4 years, Summerfest returns to Woonsocket.  Summerfest will be held at World War II Veterans Memorial Park, off Social Street, Friday July 8 – Sunday July 10, 2022.

 

"I am looking forward to a burst of Summer at this year’s Summerfest,” said Judy Sullivan, Autumnfest General Chairperson.  "There will be fun for people of all ages and you will have the opportunity to purchase Autumnfest souvenirs and Autmnfest Buttons for $1.00 a button."

Fanelli Amusements will be bringing their always popular carnival rides to Summerfest along with kid’s activities including an inflatable bounce house, a number of Food Vendor options and entertainment by DJ Buddy D.  Other small surprises will be taking place, too.  If you are looking for a fun summer vacation option without the big price tag, then Summerfest is for you.

 

The hours of operation for Summerfest are as follows:

-Friday      July 8:    6:00 PM – 10:00 PM

-Saturday July 9:  12:00 PM – 10:00 PM

-Sunday   July 10: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Friday July 8 from 6:00PM – 10:00 PM is bracelet night.  You will be able to ride as many rides you can for one low price of $30.00 per person.

Fanelli’s Amusements will be selling fried dough, popcorn, cotton candy, candy apples & caramel apples.

The suspect in the Illinois July 4th parade shooting is being charged. Robert Crimo the Third is now facing seven counts of first degree murder. Lake County State's Attorney Eric Rinehart says he anticipates "dozens of more charges." Crimo is accused of shooting and killing seven, and wounding dozens more with a high-powered rifle from a rooftop during the parade in Highland Park on Monday.        Highland Park, Illinois is getting a visit from Vice President Kamala Harris after the parade shooting on the Fourth of July. She spoke earlier today in Chicago at an event where she pushed for an end to gun violence, saying "enough is enough." At the site tonight Harris said " We have to take this stuff seriously, as seriously as you are because you have been forced to take this seriously."       Central Maryland is dealing with some severe weather tonight. The National Weather Service confirms a tornado touched down in Prince George's County as thunderstorms rolled through the area today. No reports of any injuries yet.        The woman accused of killing a professional cyclist in Texas is now in jail. Kaitlin Armstrong was booked into the Travis County Jail this afternoon after being transferred from Harris County. Prosecutors say she murdered Moriah Wilson in May because she thought the cyclist was seeing her boyfriend. Wilson was captured last week in Costa Rica.       The San Jose Sharks are naming Mike Grier as their new general manager. Grier becomes the first Black GM in NHL history and the fifth general manager in Sharks' franchise history. He replaces Doug Wilson, who stepped down because of health issues after 19 seasons. Grier played in more than one-thousand games with four teams over a 14-year NHL career, including the Sharks from 2006 to 2009.        "Stranger Things 4" is now Netflix's second ever title to gain over one-billion hours viewed. Part two of the show's fourth season released on July 1st. Volume two was released into two episodes that equal almost up to four hours in show time. The show was viewed for over 300-million hours during the period of June 27th through July 3rd, with part 2 of the season only being available for three days of that period.
