Last Call for Artist Applications 

 

LAST CALL FOR ARTISTS AND CRAFTERS!

 

Attention crafters, artisans, and creators of original handmade items, the 2022 Pawtucket Arts Festival is accepting final vendor applications for space in the arts marketplace at the Slater Park Fall Festival.

 

The festival features a curated, open-air market from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm on Saturday, September 17th - Sunday, September 18th that attracts over 10,000 attendees and features a live performance of the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra. All applications will be reviewed by the Pawtucket Arts Festival Arts Vendor Selection Committee to ensure that all art vendor's work is a unique, one-of-a-kind, handmade art object and that a balance of many art forms are represented throughout the marketplace.

Former President Trump's criminal hush money trial resumes this morning in New York City. Former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker is expected to take the stand again today. Trump is accused of covering up hush money payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels aimed at keeping her quiet about an extra-marital affair.        The judge in Donald Trump's case will decide today if Trump has violated his gag-order, barring him from criticizing anyone connected to the case. Prosecutors want him fined three-thousand bucks.        The Senate is expected to pass a 95-billion dollar aid package for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan this week. Senate leaders are aiming to quickly pass the legislation that cleared the House on Saturday. It includes more than 60-billion of aid for Ukraine and 26-billion for Israel.        The Supreme Court has agreed to take up a major gun rights case involving so-called ghost guns. They're made from kits and can be bought with no background check. The ATF recently changed the rules, giving the government more power to regulate them. The question now before the high court is whether the ATF has the power to change gun rules or if that must come from Congress.       The Port of Baltimore can weather a limited closure of shipping traffic following the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge. That's according a new report by the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. Businesses said they can manage a short-term disruption, but they expressed greater concerns about lead times and increased costs if efforts to reopen the shipping channel take longer.        The opening bell rings this morning after stocks closed higher on Wall Street Monday to kick off the new week. Stocks rose in a broad rally as tech shares rebounded from last week's selloff. Investors are also looking ahead to the release of major earnings with Tesla, Meta Platforms, Microsoft and American Airlines all on deck in the coming days.
