Woonsocket Martin Luther King Community Committee 2022 Weekend Celebration


Woonsocket – The Woonsocket MLK Community Committee celebrates 20 years of service to the community.


The theme of the event this year is “Amplifying Voices for Racial Solidarity and Equity.” The theme is intended to inspire the community during a difficult time and to serve as a reminder of both individual and collective responsibility to fight injustices and support one another. In  King’s words, “You are not only responsible for what you say, but also for what you do not say.”

That's after the CDC gave its blessing to the Pfizer shot for kids between five and eleven. However, agency director Dr. Rochelle Walensky noted vaccination with a primary series of COVID shots in that age range lags way behind other groups.       Elon Musk says claims that he sexually harassed a flight attendant on a private jet are "utterly untrue." On Twitter, he also described them as "wild accusations." His response came after Business Insider reported SpaceX paid a quarter-million dollars in 2018 to settle a sexual harassment claim from a flight attendant.       Former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is running for Congress. The 61-year-old Democrat made the announcement on his Twitter account. The former mayor is running in New York's redrawn 10th Congressional District.       Two teams in the NHL playoffs are looking to go up two-nothing in their series tonight. The Carolina Hurricanes took down the New York Rangers in game one. Up north, the Calgary Flames are up one game to none against the Edmonton Oilers as those teams compete in the Battle of Alberta.
