Media Advisory: Hospital and State Leaders to Urge Rhode Islander to Seek Care in the Right Setting

With hospital emergency departments in Rhode Island continuing to experience significant crowding, state leaders and hospital leaders will gather tomorrow morning to urge Rhode Islanders to seek care in the most appropriate setting. Many health issues can be treated quickly and effectively by a primary care provider or in an urgent care facility.

The event will be held at 10:00 a.m. on November 17th at the ambulance bay of Rhode Island Hospital’s Emergency Department on Blackstone Street in Providence (between Culver Street and Plain Street). There is metered parking on Blackstone Street and public lots on Willard Avenue.

The justice department has charged over 330 rioters with the 2002 law that makes it a crime to "corruptly" obstruct or impede an official proceeding. It will be up to the conservative leaning High Court to decide if a narrow interpretation of the law should be taken.        The jury selection process in Donald Trump's historic money trial is scheduled to resume today. SAG-AFTRA announced Friday that the agreement with major labels follows protections the union and the Writers Guild of America reached with production studios last year after their respective strikes. They included landmark protections around using artificial intelligence as the evolving technology poses increasing threats to the creative workforce.
