Shredded Paper Recycling

Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt has announced that Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation is no longer accepting shredded paper in the green carts used in curbside recycling collection. The Mayor stated, “The good news is, in an effort to continue to provide recycling services to the residents of Woonsocket, residents may bring shredded paper in clear plastic bags or brown paper bags to the City Recycle Facility, located at 943 River Street.”

The Recycle Center is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:15 pm and Saturdays from 8:00 am to 11:45 am.

While at the Recycle Center, residents are encouraged to visit the “Swap Shed”; you never know what treasures you’ll find.

If you have any questions, please contact our Solid waste Division at 767-8880.
