On November 16, 2020, the Statewide Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Jairo Esdel Galva with one count of murder, one count of discharging a firearm while committing a violent crime resulting in death, one count of committing a drive-by shooting, and one count of carrying a pistol without a license.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the city of Pawtucket sometime on October 31, 2020. The Pawtucket Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on November 19, 2020 in Providence County Superior Court. He is currently being held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions (ACI).

 

Today's Wall Street comeback rally is in sharp contrast to last week's round of profit-taking. Investor concerns that Fed rate hikes could come earlier than expected sparked a broad sell-off in stocks. The Dow finished nearly 600 points higher for its strongest session since March as the market rallied from its post-Fed slump.       The White House is still working to have 70-percent of adult Americans at least partially vaccinated against COVID-19 by the 4th of July. Speaking to reporters, Press Secretary Jen Psaki [[ SAH-kee ]] acknowledged a lag in vaccinations among young adults and said the effort will not stop after the holiday. Psaki also echoed warnings about the rise of deadly coronavirus mutations, or variants.       Vice President Harris says a sweeping infrastructure upgrade will help to lift up the middle class. Speaking at a roundtable in Pittsburgh, Harris said President Biden's infrastructure plan will "fortify and grow good union jobs." She argued supporting labor unions is about lifting up working families.       Mayor Bill de Blasio is explaining how the new ranked choice voting system is going to effect tomorrow's New York City Primary Elections. De Blasio says it could take weeks to get the final results in some of the races. The mayor says he has still not decided how he's going to rank the mayoral candidates on his ballot.       The President-elect of Iran is refusing to meet with President Biden. Ebrahim Raisi [[ eb-bruh-heem ry-EE-see ]] made his comments today after voters chose the conservative hardliner to be their next leader. Meantime, Raisi called on the U.S. to "immediately return" to the 2015 nuclear deal that was struck under the Obama Administration.       Award-winning director Steven Spielberg is signing a multi-year deal with Netflix. Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment will make multiple new films for the streaming service. Financial terms of the deal were not made public.
