Polkafest returns to Woonsocket Sunday, September 25

WOONSOCKET, RI: On Sunday, September 25, the Woonsocket Polkafest will once again delight crowds with delicious Polish cuisine and upbeat authentic Polish music. Sunday’s Polkafest will be held at River Island Art Park from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. This family-friendly event is open to all ages. The event has been made possible through a collaboration between Kraków Deli Bakery Smokehouse and owners Krystian Przybylko and Marta Sanek, as well as the City of Woonsocket and community partners.

“Woonsocket has a vibrant Polish-American community, who have greatly contributed to the culture of this City,” said Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt. “I would like to recognize the efforts of Krystian Przybylko in bringing a beloved tradition back to life. I look forward to joining eager Polkafest goers this Sunday at River Island Art Park.”

Sunday’s Polkafest will feature authentic Polish food from Kraków Deli Bakery Smokehouse including favorites like pierogies, golombkies, grilled kielbasa, and baked ham. Owner Krystian Przybylko has spearheaded the efforts to revive the popular festival that has been on hiatus since 2012.

Entertainment will be provided by the New Cracovia Orchestra, who will be playing traditional polka, waltz, Obereks and Polish music.  Festival goers are encouraged to bring their appetites and dancing shoes.
