Arrest in recent armed robberies

Woonsocket, RI; In recent weeks the Woonsocket Police Department has been investigating several armed robberies. The following list dates/times and locations where these robberies have occurred.

1. Dec 26, 2019 at 8:17pm
a. Shell Gas Station 1030 Social St. Woonsocket, RI.

2. Dec 30, 2019 at 12:48pm
a. T & D Market 261 Dulude Ave. Woonsocket, RI

3. Dec 30, 2019 at 3:04pm
a. Gulf Express Gas Station 852 Park Ave. Woonsocket, RI.

4. Jan 11, 2020 at 10:42pm
a. Seasons Corner Market and Gas Station 1325 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket, RI.


The suspect in each of these events shared similar characteristics. White male, dressed in black clothing, black hoodie, wearing a mask and gloves. The suspect brandished a handgun and demanded money. Investigators were able to identify the suspects vehicle as a newer model Toyota Camry silver or light tan in color. No injuries resulted from suspects actions.
Area communities also reported similar robberies with a suspect described as that described in the Woonsocket incidents. The suspect managed to escape apprehension—that is until he was caught on Jan 13, 2020 at 10:21pm in Woonsocket.


W.P.D. officers Berthelette, Bibeault, and Dybala working on the night of Jan 13, 2020 around the 10:00 pm hour, heard a radio transmission of a robbery occurring in Uxbridge, Ma. with similar description and circumstances as those in Woonsocket. Night platoon officers established a perimeter at the main throughways to monitor traffic moving in and out of Woonsocket. Officers Berthelette, Bibeault, and Dybala monitoring Harris Ave observed a light-colored newer model Toyota Camry enter the City from Blackstone, Ma. The vehicle had similar characteristics of the suspect vehicle police were looking for. The officers conducted a motor vehicle stop and identified the operator. Within the passenger compartment, officers observed evidence indicative of involvement, in at least, to the Woonsocket robberies. The operator was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters. The Toyota Camry was towed to headquarters as evidence.

The operator is identified as Patrick Dandeneau, 30 years old, of Blackstone, Ma. Dandeneau is being charged with four (4) counts of 1st Degree Robbery.  Mr. Dandeneau appeared for arraignment in 6th District Court on Wednesday January 15, 2020 and was remanded without bail pending a bail hearing on January 30, 2020.

The legislation would force TikTok's China-based parent company ByteDance to sell the app or face a ban from U.S. devices and networks.        FBI Director Christopher Wray is disputing Donald Trump's promise to investigate his political rivals. The former President has vowed to order the Department of Justice to investigate his opponents if he wins the 2024 election. On Tuesday, NBC News spoke with Wray, who said he wouldn't allow his agents to conduct any investigation that doesn't comply with the FBI's rules, procedures, best practices, or core values.       Pro-Palestinian protests are growing on college campuses around the country. Demonstrators at Columbia University say they want the Ivy League school to divest from companies they say profit from Israel's violations of international law and Palestinian rights. Police made arrests at Yale and New York University yesterday as some protests turned violent.        A nationwide search is underway for a former police officer accused of killing his ex-wife and underage girlfriend in Washington state. That's according to the New York Post. Elias Huizar is accused of killing his ex Amber Rodriguez at the elementary school where she worked on Monday and a second victim, identified as a 17-year-old he had been dating. The alleged murders took place on the same day Huizar was set to appear in court for allegedly raping two 16-year old girls.       The NBA Playoffs continue with three games tonight. First, the Phoenix Suns will take on the Timberwolves in Minnesota in game two of their series. The Timberwolves currently hold a one-to-nothing series lead. Then, the Indiana Pacers will take on the Milwaukee Bucks for game two. The Bucks lead that series one-game-to-zero. Lastly, the Dallas Mavericks will look to avoid going down two-games-to-none against the Clippers in Los Angeles in game two of their series.       A new Johnny Cash album is coming out more than two decades after his death. Universal Music is issuing "Songwriter," a collection of 11 previously unreleased demos the country legend recorded in 1993. According to "Variety," all of them are self-written originals by Johnny Cash.
